Leadership

During my time at Sportchek I have been asked to watch over the department while working my shift. During this time I noticed that one employee was confused about what to recommend a customer. While it is important to put in effort to understand the products, not everyone can factor every requirement given by the customer. I took this opportunity to help the employee by not taking over but explaining how they can resolve this in the future. As a leader, it is essential to work with co workers rather than tell them what to do but one should not compensate for the lack of another employees skills. Therefore, it is important to build teammates up so that the team can benefit.

Communication

When working as a support analyst, it is essential to note down issues from the customer and communicate the solution to the customer. Many customers were not technical staff and required solutions without little technical liguo. My time at sportchek has helped me with communicating with customers and explain ways to avoid ways to stop this issue in the future. This is essential in system analysis as systems analyst must be able to understand the requirements for a project then communicate how the technology that will be used is suitable according to the requirements.

Gather Requirements

While Gathering requirements is a skill critical to every Technical position, I had the ability to be able to apply concepts learned in my undergrad in the real world. Working as a sales advisor has allowed me to listen to customers needs and ask follow up questions to fully grasp what they would like. This is also what was the case at blackberry when customers did not need to fix something need help with implementing the system. In this case I would recommend the profile and policies to follow according to their organizations needs.
